Atlantis Bookstore

A genuine lover of books and writing art, overflowing with positive energy and mood for relaxing conversations, Craig Walzer came to visit Santorini with a friend in summer 2002. At some point they ran out of books and thought “how nice it would be to set up a bookstore in Oia”. And that is how it all began: today Atlantis Bookstore is one of the most famous bookstores in the world. Simple and modest, Craig has preserved the building exactly as he received it, even though he is struggling today to cope with various adverse conditions to keep it. During the last years he has been organizing Caldera Arts & Literature Festival and has never stopped travelling to discover rare books, such as the first edition of Breakfast at Tiffany’s in limited copies with tiny diamonds on the cover. That is exactly where the uniqueness of this bookstore lies: in Craig’s real commitment to discover small ‘lost Atlantis’ within the world literature that one day will find their recipients among the visitors of Santorini.
