This is the marble workshop of Grigoris Kouskouris, a workshop of long tradition, since the artist has family roots in Pyrgos, on the island of Tinos, famous for their marble sculpting. A descendant of a marble-sculpting family himself, Grigoris Kouskouris set up his own workshop in Santorini in 2003; in the year 2007 he presented his first work collection. Today he creates marble prickly pears and white boats. He also works on the inside of natural stones from the sea of Tinos; this way, he makes extraordinary serving dishes, since the stone is left intact on the outside as if narrating stories of the deep blue.

Santorini is known for its pumice extraction which until recently was exported in many countries. Consequently, the island established artistic creations that come from this material.
