The “Megaro Gyzi” Festival 2009 (Fira, Tel. 22860-23077) will be held from 1st until 23rd of August 2009. The entrance is free all cultural events.

Saturday 1/8/09, 21.00. Painting Exhibition by Paris Prekas with the title: “The Lithographs in the Voyage of Paris Prekas”. Duration of Exhibition: 1-23 August 2009.

Tuesday 4/8/09, 21.00. Chamber Music recital by Trio Arte. They interpret classical music works.

Friday 7/8/09, 21.00. Musical performance “The tour of the world in…octaves” by Eleni and Suzana Vougioukli.

MONDAY 10 & TUESDAY 11/8/09, 20.30 p.m. Performance of the Athenian Shadow Theater with the plays: “Karagiozis Secretary” (10/8) and “The eighty two warrants of Karagiozis” (11/8).

Thursday 13/8/09, 21.00. Concert of the unique singer Fotini Darra, interpreting songs of the composer Dimitris Papadimitriou (accompanied by a pianist).

Monday 17/8/09, 21.00. Zoe Tiganouria (accordion) and Giorgos Psihogios (piano, accordion) together for the first time.

Thursday 20/8/09, 21.00. Gagabunga Quintet by the composer and pianist Giannis Arzimanoglou, mixing music styles such as jazz, latin, bossa nova, salsa, as well as Greek and Mediterranean music.

Sunday 23/8/09, 21.00. Kostis Maravegias and his band Μaraveyas Ιlegal.

12/8/09. Concert of the famous singer Goran Bregovic at the the Union of Cooperatives of Santorini. Sponsored by the Municipality of Thira.

Exactly like every year, the Wine Festival will take place in Santorini, with the participation of all wine makers,. The program includes wine tasting, presentation of all wines and cultural events. 14-22/6/09. Ramon. Presentation of his new electro soul album, part of which was recorded in Santorini.

From 27/7/09 up to 10/8/09 Motherfunkers will be in Santorini. It a six members band with soul and funk music style.
